Which Electronics Can We Pick Up?

Have an old TV, computer, or a few devices taking up space? Tell us what you need removed, and we will confirm what we can take before you book.

Customers often ask about televisions, monitors, desktop computers, laptops, printers, scanners, keyboards, computer mice, routers, game consoles, phones, tablets, stereos, and cords. Acceptance depends on the item and its condition, so please include everything in your quote request.

Item What to tell us
TV or monitor Its size, screen type if known, and whether it is upstairs
Computer or laptop How many devices you have and whether you have erased your personal data
Printer or office equipment The number of items and their approximate size
Phone or tablet Whether the device has a damaged or swollen battery
Cords and small devices What the items are and roughly how many you have

Please mention these separately: loose batteries, fluorescent bulbs, microwaves, large appliances, and damaged electronics. They may need different handling. The Santa Fe Solid Waste Management Agency provides separate guidance for batteries and other materials.

How Pickup Works

A little information upfront helps us give you an accurate answer.

1. Tell us what needs to go

Send an item list and your pickup address. Photos help us identify large screens, heavy equipment, and mixed loads. Let us know if the items are in a garage, office, upstairs room, or storage area.

2. Confirm the quote

We will review the items and access details with you before confirming a price and appointment. If you are unsure about an item, ask before pickup day.

3. Prepare devices with personal data

Back up what you want to keep, sign out of your accounts, and erase personal information from computers, phones, and tablets. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency recommends deleting personal information before donating or recycling electronics. If your business needs a formal data destruction record, tell us before booking so you can confirm whether that requirement can be met.

What Does Electronics Removal Cost?

The cost depends on the number and type of items, their size, and access to the pickup spot. Removing one monitor from a ground floor room is a different job from clearing several heavy TVs from an upstairs office.

Send us photos and an item count for a useful quote. If you also have furniture or other unwanted items, include them in the same request so we can review the whole job. We will confirm the charge before you schedule.

What Happens to Old Electronics?

A working device may still have a useful life. Repair, reuse, or donation may be worth considering before recycling. The Santa Fe Solid Waste Management Agency provides local information about repair and reuse.

Devices that cannot be reused need an appropriate collection or recycling route. Some contain materials that require special care, while others contain parts that can be recovered. The agency says electronic waste is banned from its landfill and provides item specific disposal guidance. Ask us about the handling route for your accepted items when we review your request.

A note about batteries: Do not put loose lithium batteries or devices with damaged batteries in household trash or recycling carts. Tell us about them before pickup. The EPA explains where these batteries should go.

Would You Rather Drop Items Off Yourself?

If you can transport your devices, the Buckman Road Recycling and Transfer Station is at 2600 Buckman Road, Santa Fe, NM 87507. It accepts electronic waste from Santa Fe County under its published rules. TVs and computer monitors have a separate listed fee. Check its current accepted items, hours, and fees before making the drive.

Pickup may suit you better if you cannot move a large screen, have several devices to clear, or are already arranging a larger cleanout. Compare the quoted pickup cost with the time and effort of taking the items yourself.

Electronics Pickup for Homes and Offices

A garage near Cerrillos Road, an office off St. Michael’s Drive, or a property elsewhere in Santa Fe may have several types of devices to clear. Send us the full list. We can then identify what may be collected together and what needs a separate option.

For an office collection, count the computers, monitors, printers, and other equipment before requesting a quote. If your organization needs an inventory, proof of recycling, or secure data destruction, tell us at the start. Confirm what documentation is available before releasing the devices.

Common Questions

Can you take one TV?

Send us its size, type, and pickup address. We will confirm whether we can collect it and provide a quote.

Do I need to carry items outside?

Tell us where the devices are. We will confirm the pickup arrangements, including stairs or access limits, before you book.

Can batteries go with the electronics?

Do not mix loose batteries into a box of devices without checking first. Tell us the battery type and whether any device is damaged. Santa Fe’s agency also publishes separate battery guidance.

Erase your personal data before handing over a device. If you need formal data destruction or a certificate, raise that requirement before scheduling.
